It is really great to get this much interest in helping. All offers are genuinely appreciated.

I have added Jeffrey Kimble as a moderator. We will add moderators as the forum increases but this will take some time.

We are also bringing on line a new version of Gibson forums and there will be opportunities to moderate and otherwise provide help and leadership. We have plenty to do and we will try to take everyone up on their offer.

FYI: The two Gibson guys associated with the forums are Jason Davidson and Cory Moore, both of who spend time here on this forum. We also have a thriving community on facebook and twitter and you would be welcome to be more involved there as well. Michael Wright is leading this effort.

Your contributions and good will are welcome and can help us build a really great community. One that is useful, entertaining and allows our Gibson team do a better job at serving you.

Thank you!!!!

Henry, this forum is a great idea in my opinion. Thumbs up!

If you ever find yourself in need of a mod that speaks/writes both spanish and english fluently you can count me in (Gibson Forums handle: Thundergod). I started that long, long thread about "setting up your gibson" in the spanish section of the Gibson Forum, and am always willing to lend a hand when the spanish guys who don't speak any english need it.

Congrats Flick. I guess we will meet here instead of a Summer Jam this year. Can't justify a party this year with all the terrible flood damage.

Mr.Juszkiewiez, this new forum, that you have started has the potential to become a highly useful tool. One that might effect all levels of Gibson. Some of the conceptions expressed on the Gibson forum and this site, by a good number of individuals, could be of value to this company. If used properly, these ideas, comments, thoughts and suggestions could be made into valuble commodities. The people on the front line, if able, could represent both Gibson and their customer base. This is a very interesting position to be in. You, as the CEO, and the person where the buck stops, I would hope , use all of the available assets in front of you. Choose with wisdom. I have seen things wrong with Gibson and the way it's been run. And i am only referring to the customer end of things.I am not one of the "haters" in fact , I am a good customer of Gibson and would like to be constuctive in my approch. As soon as i figure out how to private mail you , I will. As i think you should hear from your good customers, when they feel the need to have their say.

Hi, as a long time Gibson fan and player, (to be fair, I also have other makes too.) but I'd be interested to know exactly what would be expected of moderators as well as time required to perform the duties of a moderator ?
I hope i can help
regards
Tedm

I have some moderator experience if you need any help. I also have time on my hands.

Good evening Sir, I've attempted to PM you but received an error message stating you are unable to receive any more messages. If it's not too late I'd like to add my name to list of people volunteering to act as moderators. While I'm only a hobby musician, I've been playing for over 30 years. I currently own a 2010 LP Traditional, and two 2004 epiphone Elitists. I am also Canadian and work for General Dynamics Canada in the defense industry as an Engineering Specialist. My own knowledge of Gibson products & history is fairly broad but I'd hardly call myself an "expert". I think in many ways a moderator should be well balanced and I've had some formal skills training in influencing people which I require for work. I can say that I respect Gibson's history & tradition and hope to see Gibson continue to honour them while still listening & considering new possibilities.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely
Ken Urkosky

I have found the mod choices curious. I would have gone a different way...

If there's ever a need for an SG expert moderator, count me in. As much time as I've put in over the years playing, researching and worshipping (of certain models) that particular guitar, I'd love to play a part in getting them tweaked and bringing my friends on here and at the Gibson.com forum a superior SG selection. B)

OK, Henry: here's the perfect SG reissue recipe (I KNOW you can pull it off if you WANT to): Historic spec nice deep beveling paired with the '61 RI's more period-accurate thinner tapered horn tips (and leave a little more on that bottom horn length to give it that true "vintage" semi-symmetrical illusion!); or bring back the Maestro Vibrola as an option on the USA '61 Reissue (along with the 1999-2003 consistent deeper bevels, which as of mid 2010 seem to be creeping back onto the '61 RI). And make either or both (whichever you do) of them nice "new" deep cherry red (not "washed" or "faded", and with good filler to avoid sinkage/shrinkage & don't skimp on the clearcoat...let's see some nice mirror-perfect finishes like those originals!). Leave the slabby halfhearted-reissues to the copycat companies overseas and start taking pride in REAL LOOKING REISSUES for us at home. Then I'm a customer again and will sing the praises of the "Big G" again!
