Les Paul Studio Tribute Goldtop @ AMS

So I was just browsing around hoping in futile desparation (do this every week or so)... and found that AMS is listing the Studio Tribute Goldtops again. I called, and got one on pre-order/back-order. Talking with the rep, he stated that there are 48 backorders in front of me, and that they were expecting a shipment in Oct. Hopefully it also means that since they were relisted on the site, they are expecting more than 48 to come in that order. We'll see if I actually get one, but at least I found a place to order one! And I won't be charged for it until it ships, so that's a good thing.

Thought maybe there might be others here that would be interested in knowing...

When I searched earlier for "gibson les paul studio tribute" 2 came up, worn satin ebony and worn gold top... now it just has the worn ebony, and only 1 left at that. Sorry, just got lucky timing I guess... now we'll see if I'm lucky enough to actually have it ship to me.

As an update - The GTs were due in on Oct 9... called on the 11th, and was told my order has been pushed out to late Nov. Still keeping my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath.

So I was going through bank accounts today getting ready for payday and bill paying... and noticed my card was billed for the guitar late last week. So I called up AMS, and they had shipped it on the 18th... supposed to arrive on the Weds!

Now, while I do feel a whole lot of pain for all the folks that had orders cancelled, and all the crap that has happened to a great many people... My heart does go out to you. I do have to say, I'm very happy to have been so lucky as to find one, get it ordered and actually have it shipped, especially since I started looking so late in the game. I'm not going to be able to sleep for the next 2 nights anxiously awaiting mine - and I have a full 4 day weekend to break it in!

Sorry to all that ordered and didn't get it, and to those that wanted and never found...
