I've got a great jazz box; an awfully nice Dot "even if" it's an Epi. I've got A-Es from the '70s and a nice little Epi "parlor guitar" A-E. I've got an electrified 12-string...
I know this won't go over with some on here, but I'd like a shot at the new Firebird X or one of the earlier and somewhat more "guitarry" looking models.
Way early in this section of Gibson forums the thread was "what would you like." Well, I didn't think Robot per se, but I like the idea of the bridge piezos. I like the idea of some on-board electronics. The thing that kept me from GASsing for a Variax was simply that reviews indicated it wasn't the kind of neck I'd care for.
The more I thought about robot tuners, the more frankly I like the idea. Add that to a light guitar to play on a gig all night, and the piezos and some tech that has had a few variations going already and a Gibson-style neck? Yeah, I'd take one. Even over the 175 which I overall consider the closest to an ideal guitar in shape and capabilities. (It still should have a master volume. <grin>)

Mine is a bit older and I think a bit different brand but... that 175 "type" is just about the perfect all around electric guitar. Period.
I've had mine since the mid 1970s and - nope it ain't goin' nowhere. I'm rather attached as you may note in both avatar and profile pix.

Or, replace mahogany with korina in the same model specs.
Pickups would be the flattest-response humbucking set available from the Gibson factory.
Or,
Korina Firebird Standard (trapezoid or block inlays, full-size pickups)
Or,
re-issue SG Standard Korina natural top (anniversary model 1993?)
