That's seriously NOT funny!

I belive that if LP would have been alive to see something like that (or the Fireturd for that matter), he would have given HJ a good kick square in the nuts.

When Gibson goes back to being more "Stradivary" and less "Failed '80s Tech", I'll be more impressed, but until then...

YAWN!

Nobody on the planet tinkered or modded their guitars more than Les Paul himself--

I think the Firebird X is all hype, smoke and mirrors, but I bet Les would have thought it was cool--

Les Paul was a "for the player" type of person, and didn't believe in forcing stuff on the market that people didn't want. He modded his guitars for himself, and didn't expect other people to "like" them. As a matter of fact, guess who's idea it was to release the recording/pesonal models? Not his?

He would have thought it was "different", maybe? But, definately not "cool". I actually find it really funny (in a good way) that after ALL the mods that he had done, he actually felt that previous "gimmicks" (Google is your friend) put out by Gibson, were "too complicated" for many players!

Also, the mods that he did were done in order for him to achieve the purest, possible tone from his guitars (specifically from the strings themselves), NOT to achieve/create totally different tones (ever notice that he NEVER had any effects?). So, I doubt very highly that LP would have approved.

I wish Gibson conceptually had gone in this direction...

http://www.music-man...me-changer.html

Imagine the guts of this guitar on a traditional Gibson platform. As I understand it, this guitar has an all-analog, digitally controlled circuit path. Deep editing can be achieved via the USB and a PC. Batteries...3 AA cells with approx 100 hours of play-life. Theoretically, there are 25,000 different combinations available.

Love to try some of these products before I could comment or purchase.Like a new auto, just cant take the word of the description and make the step to buy.Learned to never judge a cover of a book (cool or lame)review, without reading it first and then it is only my opinion.Love to see Gibson come up with pickup combo with the option of active or passive and great tone.Tried many brands that claim a good mix only to spend days rewiring and going back to to where one started.Tough to get a sound in your head out of a guitar and be happy at the same time.Maybe its not possible.

All the Les Paulverizer was, was a guitar-mounted (not built-in) looper. It had no effect on his tone whatsoever.

I also stand by my previous post. B)
