Chameleon Tops: The NEW Goldtops! It'd be worth trying!

Does anyone remember the Epi Les Paul Chameleon? I thought that was a great concept, but I think where Epiphone missed it: That paint is like gold. If someone had painted an entire guitar gold, it probably wouldn't have done as well....as a goldtop. (Less paint is also used when just painting the top.)

Would either Gibson or Epiphone consider giving the finish another chance? I think it would look fantastic set up not with the whole guitar painted, but just the top set off with creme plastics...just like a goldtop. And, it would look great on a Studio or even a blackback model with faux binding.

Dave Johnson just painted a Queensryhe guitar for my son which we are about to surprize him with .The guitar has much more colors but close to this..

That was a gorgeous guitar, man.

I know the paint is expensive, though...which is why I'm of the impression a top would be cool, or even a chameleon burst on a guitar with natural back and sides.
